Studies on Geometrical Features of Tool Wear and Other Important Machining Characteristics in Sustainable Turning of Aluminium Alloys

Abstract The aerospace and automotive industries make extensive use of aluminium its alloys. Contrarily, machining (Al) alloys presents a number difficulties, including, but not limited to, poor surface finishing, excessive tool wear, decreased productivity etc. Therefore, it’s very important to measure the characteristics during alloy with sustainable cooling strategies. In this work, new approach measurement was adopted critical geometrical aspects roughness, power consumption microhardness while AA2024-T351 under dry, minimum quantity lubrication (MQL), liquid nitrogen (LN 2 ) carbon dioxide (CO conditions. Initially, various wear were studied help Sensofar Confocal Microscope integrated Mountains map software then, other results such as measured per ISO standards. outcome these studies confirms that LN CO is helpful in improving alloy. When compared dry conditions, roughness values MQL, , all have are lowered by 11.90%, 30.95%, 39.28% respectively, also 3.11%, 6.46% 11.5% for respectively.
